who might need a supplement I mean do we all need them or what kind of populations might need them why so it really depends on the type of supplement and the person so when we look at the population there are certain people who might need them like for example pregnant women pregnant women definitely have a higher need for example for folic acid something that not your standard multivitamin might not have men's multivitamins are not gonna have that so they do formulate specific multivitamins for pregnant women children also have a higher need for calcium and vitamin D if they're picky eaters even more they're gonna need some extra in there and also the elderly because as we age we still need some of the same minerals but the appetite decreases so sometimes supplements have a place in there but I would always recommend to just check with your physician who can test to see if you're deficient so that's a key there I'd like for everybody to remember that it if there's a deficiency then there's a need but everybody doesn't really need a supplement how do we know for whether it's a pill or a powder if we're taking the right amount I mean should we follow the label or how does that work right so with the label the label will always say how much it has of each ingredient of the vitamins of minerals but again there's always a risk that it doesn't have enough or it has more than when it claims it has and actually there's there's several companies that do these testings and to be honest I've never seen it having a hundred percent of what the label says so that's a little bit of a concern so if you're taking that supplement for vitamin D for example you always check the serving size it might be from one pill to two or three pills but following your doctor's advice that's always the best because when it comes to supplements there's different kinds for example a multivitamin they all tend to have the same vitamins and minerals but not the same amount so I say that because for example iron can cause some side effects for women constipation is one of the most common so if you already struggle with constipation then you need to look for one that doesn't have it and so that can come into either reducing the dosage or finding just a different supplement
